Burgundy wine has a refreshing acidity and mellow aroma and is more enjoyable when it flows straight to the throat while suppressing excess acidity. A special feature of the Bourgogne wine glass is its shape. Starting from the broad bowl (base), the glass narrows as it rises to the rim (opening). When you drink from the glass, you have to tilt your head slightly. When you drink this way, the wine does not contact the outsides of the tongue, which sense acidity, and can flow lightly over the tongue naturally. The ability to suppress excess acidity while better preserving the aroma is a major point of this silhouette.
