What is Magic Prices?
Magic Prices is a price comparison service. You search for a product, and we tell you which retailer is selling it for the least. No magic involved, just a good deal of work behind the scenes. It costs you nothing to use.
How does Magic Prices work?
Retailers publish offers for the same product: a price, and whether the item is in stock. We bring those offers together on a single page and show them side by side, ordered by price, cheapest first. We check for obvious errors before anything is published. Our methodology page explains the whole process.
Does Magic Prices sell products?
No. We are a comparison service and nothing else. We hold no stock, arrange no deliveries, process no returns and provide no product support. When you find an offer you want, you are taken to the retailer’s own site to buy from them.
How does Magic Prices make money?
The service is free to use. We earn a commission when you use “View Offer” and go on to buy from the retailer. That commission is paid by the retailer, not by you: the price you pay is the one shown on the retailer’s site, with nothing added by us. No retailer pays us a fee to be listed, and commission has no effect on the order in which offers appear. Our How we make money page sets it out in full.
Is Magic Prices independent?
Yes. No retailer pays to be listed and no retailer can pay to move up the ranking. We are not owned by, or tied to, any manufacturer or retailer. Offers are ordered strictly by price, never by what we stand to earn. Every retailer is displayed the same way. See our methodology.
Why use Magic Prices?
Three reasons. Our methods are published, so you can read how offers are ranked before deciding whether to trust the ranking. Product pages show how a price has moved over recent months, which lets you tell a real reduction from a re-labelled one. And the people who run the service are named on our team page. No black box, no anonymous ranking.
Who runs Magic Prices?
The site is published by MAGIC PRICES SAS, a company with a share capital of €200,000, registered with the Nantes Trade and Companies Register under number 925 068 736, whose registered office is Immeuble BAYA, 1 Rue Du Guesclin, 44000 Nantes, France. MAGIC PRICES SAS is a subsidiary of GEO.3L SAS. Its President is Valéry Lorric. You can meet the whole team.

Is Magic Prices free?
Yes. No subscription, no premium tier, no paywall. Nothing is held back, and an account costs nothing. Our income comes from commission on sales and from promo codes, and some pages may carry advertising; it is all explained on How we make money.
Can I create an account?
Yes, and it is free. Register with an email address and password, or use your Google account. An account lets you set up and manage your Price Alerts, so you hear when a product reaches the price you are waiting for.
You never need an account to compare prices. The whole comparison service works without signing in.
What can I compare on Magic Prices?
A wide range: phones, computing, home appliances, audio and television, cameras, fashion, beauty, sport, toys and garden, among others. There is more in our products FAQ.
How are offers ranked?
By price, lowest first. The price used is the item price: what the retailer charges for the product itself. Delivery is not part of the ordering, since the retailer adds it at its own rates at the checkout. So the offer at the top is the cheapest on the item, and not always the cheapest once delivery is counted; check the retailer’s page before you order. Nothing commercial enters the ordering: no retailer pays to move up. Our methodology explains it in full.
Does Magic Prices show product reviews?
Where reviews and ratings are available for a product, we show them. We do not routinely check that a reviewer has actually used or bought the item, unless the review is marked as verified. Two things we do promise: we never write or commission a review ourselves, and we never remove a negative one because a retailer has asked us to. Both are written down in our methodology.
Why do prices differ so much between retailers?
Promotions, delivery charges, stock levels and each retailer’s own pricing decisions. That gap is the reason a comparison service exists. Check the final price on the retailer’s page before you place an order.
How often are prices updated?
Regularly. To see when a particular price was last checked, use the “Details” button on that offer: the panel shows the date under “Last Price Update”, and that panel is the only place it appears. If it looks old, use “View Offer” to check the live price before you buy. See our methodology on updates.
Can I follow how a price changes?
Yes. Product pages show how the price has moved over recent months, and Price Alerts will email you when a product reaches the figure you have set. What price history and alerts do and do not cover is set out in our prices FAQ.
How do you choose which retailers to list?
We do not pick them one at a time. The retailers here are those whose offers reach us through the affiliate platforms we work with, and we apply no minimum customer rating before a retailer can be listed. So seeing a retailer on Magic Prices is not a recommendation from us. With an unfamiliar name, read its delivery and returns terms and see what its customers say elsewhere before you order. Who handles delivery?
The retailer, not us. Any question about delivery goes to the retailer you bought from.
Who handles returns and refunds?
The retailer. Each one sets its own returns process, within the law. For most online orders in the UK you have a cancellation period of 14 days from the day you receive the goods, and separately the goods themselves must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Those rights are against the retailer you bought from, so that is who to contact.
Where do I get help with something I have bought?
From the retailer’s customer service team. Magic Prices does not provide product support, and has no access to your order.
What if a retailer does not deliver, or refuses a refund?
We are not a party to the transaction between you and the retailer, so we cannot intervene in it. Some things you can do:
- Put the complaint to the retailer’s customer service in writing first, and keep a copy.
- If that gets you nowhere, the Citizens Advice consumer service can advise you and refer the matter to Trading Standards where appropriate: citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer.
- Check whether the retailer belongs to an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Many do, and it is usually free to use.
- If you paid by credit card, you may also have a claim against your card provider under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Debit card payments may be covered by your bank’s chargeback process.

Can you guarantee a product is in stock?
No. Availability comes from the retailer and can change at any moment. Check on the retailer’s own page before ordering.
What do you do with my personal data?
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, in line with UK data protection law. Personal data is shared only with the suppliers strictly needed to run the service, with your consent where consent is required, and for the purposes set out in our privacy policy.
Is Magic Prices anything to do with Magic: The Gathering?
No. Magic Prices is an online price comparison service founded in 2024. We have no connection with the card game Magic: The Gathering, published by Wizards of the Coast. If you are looking for the cards or the game, you want a specialist site. Our name simply refers to the idea of finding the best price as if by magic.
Is Magic Prices a British company?
No. Magic Prices is operated from France by a French company, MAGIC PRICES SAS, based in Nantes and part of the GEO.3L group. We say so plainly rather than dressing the service up as something it is not. Our company details are on our team page.
