07/11/11. As a producer of European Disco music, the influence of JEAN-MARC CERRONE is second perhaps only to that of GIORGIO MORODER. Beginning as a drummer in the late 1960s, CERRONE would go on to sell over 30 million albums in a decades-spanning, internationallysuccessful career.
The 1977 release of SUPERNATURE saw Cerrone blaze a trail into electronic disco, inspired by Moroder swork with DONNA SUMMER, and resulting in the all-time classic title track, a UK top ten hit.
The slow-burning classic track GIVE ME LOVE has also proved an enduring favourite and in recent years has reached a new audience through a BOB SINCLAR remix. SUPERNATURAL continued Cerrone’s American success, with the whole album remaining at #1 on the Billboard Disco chart for four weeks, aswell as reaching #56 R&B and #120 Pop and charting in the UK.
