Product Information

This is a true servant among experienced woodcarvers around the world. The laminated carbon steel has an unsurpassed toughness that is resistant to side bends and edge retention that optimizes the properties for woodcarving. It is also easy to sharpen, which means that you can experience enjoyable woodcarving moments over and over again.

With a barrel-shaped oiled handle made of Scandinavian birch wood and an about 2,7 mm thick, tapered blade made of laminated carbon steel, you can take your creation to new levels. The knife’s full rat tail tang, which runs through the entire handle, provides both strength and stability in each cut and the handle gives you the opportunity to shape it to your own needs or expression. The knife sheath made of polymer should always be mounted on the knife when not in use, partly to minimize the risk of injury from cuts and not least to maintain the sharpness. Laminated carbon steel rusts, wipe and oil the blade after use.

The classic Woodcarving knives in laminated carbon steel are highly appreciated by our greatest craftsmen, Jögge “surolle” Sundkvist, Beth Moen & Jarrod Dahl, as well as by generations of craftsmen who love to carve.

We are now strengthening the ties to nature and making sure to expand the variety of oiled birch used for the handle. They can thus be a little darker, lighter, clearer fiber directions or of another beautiful difference. This does not affect the quality in any way but rather gives the craft knives a more personal grip.

This knife with the straight laminate steel blades can sometimes be found to have a knotty or unfinished blade surface. It comes from the rollers in the rolling mill where the laminate steel is fused. Three layers of steel are worked together and under tremendous forces a knife blade is created with unmatched toughness and edge resistance. In other words, it is a trace of the solid craftsmanship that our craft knives undergo in manufacturing.
