Harvey Mason has long been considered one of the star players in the world of funk and jazz, having played drums on literally hundreds of recordings by artists as diverse as Carole King, Donald Byrd, James Brown and Beyonce.
His credits cover over ten pages in the All Music Guide.A former live player with such legends as Herbie Hancock, George Shearing, Erroll Garner and Grover Washington Jr., the Berklee School of Music graduate began his recording solo career in 1975. Signed to Arista Records, Harvey’s first of half-a-dozen albums for the label was the 1976 release, MARCHING IN THE STREET.
The LP boasts an all-star cast of musicians and singers including Herbie Hancock, Dave Grusin, Paul Jackson Jr., Hubert Laws, Blue Mitchell, Wah-Wah Watson, Lee Ritenour, Chuck Rainey, Randy Crawford and Ernie Watts.
