Product Information

Released 26/10/09. The Real Thing were one of Britain
smost successful soul acts of the 1970s and early 1980s and are still
going strong. 4 from 8 was their second album, issued in 1977 and
inspired by their gritty upbringing in Liverpool 8, a.k.a. Toxteth. The
album has never been issued on CD before and yet is taken seriously by
discerning fans of 70s Funk and Soul. The album’s centre-piece is the
Medley, which includes the song Children Of The Ghetto, later covered by
both Philip Bailey (ex-Earth Wind & Fire) and more recently Mary J.
Blige. All songs were written by brothers Chris and Eddie Amoo.
Includes the Top 40 hit Love’s Such A Wonderful Thing.
