Product Information
There would appear to be incessant curiosity regarding the birth of Rock 'N' Roll; scores of newspaper and magazine articles and even books have been published in vain with the sole purpose of suggesting what was the first Rock 'N' Roll record. This argument has proved even more difficult since we have now admitted that the music didn't spring fully-formed from either Elvis Presley's July 1954 debut at SUN Records or even Bill Haley's April 1954 debut for DECCA Records - it had steadily evolved in the U.S. from the myriad sources of Country, Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Pop and in the late 1940s and early 1950s, fuelled by the post-war explosion of electric instruments and independent labels.
