Product Information

Probably remembered more for their left-wing politics than their jangly sound, McCarthy formed in Barking in 1985, and featured the irrefutable talent of Malcolm Eden, Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier (the latter two later went on to great success with Stereolab).
Influenced by British punk groups such as The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Buzzcocks, in turn McCarthy have been cited by many bands as an early influence, including The Manic Street Preachers who recently covered the classic “We Are All Bourgeois Now”.
“That’s All Very Well But… The Best Of” features the highlights of McCarthy’s career as well as unreleased material and obscure BBC radio sessions.
