The thinking mans metal band is just one of epithets that has been attached to this perennial Long Island New York five piece who, over the course of a career spanning 4 decades-and counting, have been responsible for the melding of some of greatest Metal, Hard Rock and AOR with some of the darkest, mind-bending and outré lyrics ever committed to record.
Most recognised for such hits as the U.K. Top 20 single (Don’t Fear) The Reaper (no Rock compilation is complete without its inclusion) and Burning For You from 1981’s Fire Of Unknown Origin album and with the mantra On Tour Forever, Blue Öyster Cult show no sign of submitting to that very same Reaper despite the ups n downs typical of such a long career. Club Ninja (originally released in 1985 and the band’s tenth studio album) saw the return of BÖC’s co-creator and svengali producer, Sandy Pearlman
