Product Information

The pseudonym Elbow Bones & The Racketeers
was another project by August Darnell (Kid Creole And The Coconuts).

NEW YORK AT DAWN was released in 1983 after
August notching up UK top ten hits with the singles I’m A Wonderful Thing
(Baby), Stool Pigeon and Annie I’m Not Your Daddy in 1982. The last of which
came from his UK #3 album Tropical Gangsters.

A NIGHT IN NEW YORK was the album’s first
single and was a big airplay hit in the UK. The single spent five weeks in the
top 40 in early 1984 as well as reaching #24 in the Dance charts in the States.

NEW YORK AT DAWN features lyricist Debbie Clarkin
and Frank ‘Pago Pago’ Passalacqua’ – lead singer with Gichy Dan. Additional musicians include the Coconuts
Carol Coleman, Ken Fradely and Lee Robertson.
This album is a delightful fusion of 1940’s-esque big band and 80’s
dance beat the likes of which had never been heard before.

The new Hot Shot Records release is housed in deluxe Super Jewel case
and features an exclusive new interview with August Darnell. It also includes
bonus tracks and is a must for all Eighties Pop and Dance fans.
