Product Information
With his deep, rich baritone, MARVIN RAINWATER was a hugely popular, influential, and highly versatile singer, enjoying many Country, Pop and R&R hits between 1957-61.
However, this is the very first Marvin Rainwater compilation to feature all his chart records.
Includes his five million-sellers, 'Gonna Find Me A Bluebird', 'My Brand Of Blues', 'The Majesty Of Love' (a duet with Connie Francis), 'Whole Lotta Woman' (which of course topped the UK charts) and 'Half Breed', alongside his other hits, 'So You Think You've Got Troubles' and 'Nothin' Needs Nothin'', and his celebrated original version of John D. Loudermilk's 'Pale Faced Indian' (aka 'Indian Reservation', later a 70s hit for Paul Revere & The Raiders and Don Fardon).
Also features sought-after R&R/Rockabilly collectors' rarities like 'Mr Blues', 'I Dig You Baby', 'That's The Way I Feel', 'Down In The Cellar', 'The Last Time', 'Love Me Baby' and 'I Can't Forget'/'Boo Hoo' (on the latter disc he was famously backed by the mighty Link Wray).
A charismatic live performer, Rainwater was rediscovered in the 70s UK Rockabilly boom, came over to tour, carved out a big reputation, and remained a welcome and regular visitor to Europe right up until his death in September 2013, at the age of 88.
