Not with the Gigaset E290, though, since you can configure its large, illuminated, black-and-white display to your preferred contrast ratio to ensure optimum legibility. You can adjust the earpiece volume to five different levels, for example and even use the amplifier function to double the volume of the call you are currently making. It starts with the installation experience: Plug-and-play technology makes setting up the phone a breeze - simply unpack, plug in and start talking. Textured surfaces on the side on the handset ensure a secure grip, while the intuitively designed menu makes using the phone even easier. The large phone book can store up to 150 contacts. You can save up to 32 numbers in a blacklist and also specify whether calls from these numbers are blocked entirely or simply indicated using a visual signal (i.e. without ringing). Anonymous calls from withheld numbers can also be handled this way, so you can choose not to be bothered by nuisance callers.

Never miss a thing thanks to the Gigaset E290A with answering machine
Stay up to date even when you're not at home. With up to 20 minutes of recording time, the built-in digital answering machine offers plenty of space for important messages and stores the recordings reliably, even in the event of a power failure. If you have new messages, this is indicated both on the handset and on the base station. You can also listen to your messages via the handset or - conveniently at the touch of a button - via the base station. If you are not at home for an extended period of time, simply use the remote access option. To configure the answering machine exactly how you want it, you can set the maximum recording length to any amount of time and record your own outgoing message.
