Few child stars make the transition to even mild teenage success, much less do they go on to enjoy careers as adults. Yet Brenda Lee - aka 'Little Miss Dynamite' was the exception, building on her childhood fame to become one of the worlds most popular singers.
This special compilation deals with her earliest work, anthologising everything that Brenda recorded between 1956-58, including her early hits 'Jambalaya', 'One Step At A Time', 'Lets Jump The Broomstick' and the perennial 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree'. Also featured is her first 'Signature tune', 'Dynamite' as well as some Rockabilly classics.
Juxtaposing R&R alongside Rockabilly, Country, Pop, Beat Ballads and novelty songs, this body of work is made all the more remarkable for the fact that these sides were all recorded before Brenda's fourteenth birthday!
These are wholly essential recordings, many of which are hard to find elsewhere on CD.
