In the 1950s when R&B vocal groups were a major commercial genre there was no group as successful as The Platters. No group enjoyed the consistency of hits they enjoyed or the enviable crossover success, placing hits on the R&B and pop charts with regularity. The group also enjoyed a far greater international fame than any other R&B vocal group of their era. This was of course achieved by a thorough embracing of pop music giving them an across the board appeal not seen since the heyday of The Ink Spots and The Mill Brothers.
This 2CD set features five original LPs all in stereo: Remember When; Reflections; Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries; Encore of Broadway Golden Hits and Song for the Lonely.
