A triumph for dehumidifiers
The new Arete range of dehumidifiers was born as a result of a five-year development by Meaco’s British design team, and with the feedback of more than 2000 customers who contributed.

Named after Arete, the Greek Goddess of Excellence in all things, this is exactly what Meaco has achieved. With an attention to detail, they have perfected every interaction between the user and the dehumidifier.

As a result, Arete was born. The quietest, most energy efficient dehumidifier range yet, it has a host of special features to make living with it a pleasure. It is the perfect solution to dealing with condensation, mould and damp problems either in medium to large homes, in a garage, in an unheated basement, on a boat or in a caravan.

More than just an appliance
The Arete’s design was with the customer in mind, it needed to be stylish and look great wherever it’s kept. As it sits against the wall, has hidden castors and an air purification mode means you can use it all year round too to maintain a clean and healthy living environment for you and your family.

Practical and quiet
A lot of people use their dehumidifiers close to the bedroom, so it was obvious that the quieter the dehumidifier, the better it would be. After 18months of testing focused on not only the actual noise level but the type of noises that made up the overall sound, Meaco managed to produce its quietest range of large dehumidifiers - at 40dB this dehumidifier is twice as quiet as the industry standard.

Clutter and confusion free
The Arete One has a control panel with simple and clearly laid out controls, the most used buttons are larger, the rarely used buttons are smaller. Large buttons include controls for Smart Humidity Control and Smart Laundry either of which can be set by pressing just one button.

A silent night
Unlike many devices in Night Mode, that leave a light on or make a noise when a button is pressed, Arete’s Night Mode is unique. Every light is turned off and the fan speed drops to the quiet low mode and there will be no bleeps. You can check the humidity levels in Night Mode quickly and quietly. Or a little one’s fingers won’t accidentally take you out of this quiet mode as it takes two confirming touches to change the machine back to normal. Night Mode can be used any time you want the dehumidifier to run as quiet as possible.

Drying Laundry
Arete is a powerful dehumidifier that can be used to dry your laundry. Many people prefer to use a dehumidifier to dry their laundry as they feel that it offers a cheaper and safer solution to a tumble dryer that is kinder to delicate fabrics. Using a dehumidifier to dry washing in this way also stops the damp from the clothes causing mould and condensation issues around the home. For best results use a clothes horse and place the dehumidifier next to the clothes horse to allow Arete to capture the damp and for the dry air from Arete to blow over the clothes. For even faster drying place the dehumidifier and the clothes in as small a room a possible and close the door and any window.

Arete’s Smart laundry mode will run for 6 hours using the minimum amount of electricity to get the job done.

Continuous drainage for a simpler use
Meaco’s aim is to reduce plastic waste, and by including a hose adapter on the Arete, it made things easier and allows you to use any standard garden hose for continuous drainage if required. This gives you the flexibility to use the unit in the best way for you and reduces plastic waste.

Cleaner air for your environment
Every dehumidifier from the Arete One range comes with a medical-grade H13 HEPA filter. It can be used to clean the air during dehumidification, or as a stand-alone air purifier throughout the spring and summer months.
