Product Information
. B4ylwe 2nd class DB Ep. III apron passenger car."These distinctive passenger cars evolved from two prototype cars developed by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch in 1939 that were based on the familiar DRG "Schürzen" express train cars. They also had streamlined side skirts and covered car ends. Unlike the express train cars, the entrances at the ends of the cars were set back and each had two revolving doors for faster passenger changes. After the war, both the DB and the DR had this type of car in their fleets. In 1978, the DB still had three cars in service, now designated Bye670, and one AByse633. The DR retired the last cars of this type in 1981. Only three of these apron cars have been preserved as museum cars for the traditional train of the Nuremberg Transportation Museum.
