When the A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular with singer Liesje Sardonius was originally released in 1996, Hoover ran into a bit of legal trouble with the famous vacuum company and had to change their moniker to Hooverphonic. Luckily, it didn't have any effect on their success. Music On Vinyl is re-issuing A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular on 180 gram audiophile vinyl for the first time since its original release. On it is the single "2Wicky", which was featured heavily on the soundtrack of the film Stealing Beauty, starring amongst others Liv Tyler and Jeremy Irons. Perhaps the dreamily experimental Symph Pop of Hooverphonic is one of Belgium's most important exports in the musical field.
